Erica Ellis graduated from the University of South Carolina, with a Bachelor Degree in Philosophy and English in 2007 and graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2010. While in law school Erica worked for defense litigation firms, was a member of the Moot Court Bar, received the American Jurisprudence (CALI) Award for Criminal Procedure, and was on the Dean's List. After graduating law school, she served as law clerk to the Honorable R. Knox McMahan in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit. Prior to joining the Dooley Law Firm, Erica worked with another law firm mainly in the areas of civil and domestic litigation.
Erica was admitted to the South Carolina bar in 2010, and was also admitted to the United States District Court of South Carolina. Erica is a member of the Lexington County Bar Association. She is also a licensed South Carolina Real Estate Broker.
Erica is married to Zach Ellis of Tifton, Georgia and they have one daughter.
